Food for petted animals in Japanese

My dog age less one.

So I put boiled water and wait 10 to 20 minutes to soften food.

By the way ,we say “Esa” for food for animals including birds , dogs , cats , etc.

But if we say “Esa” , we feel farer from human.

We give Esa for birds on road or animals in the zoo.

Dogs or cats which are petted by human are nearer than other animals.

So it is better to say “pet food” or “Syokuji”.

Syokuji is same with human just meaning meals.
